Q1: When did you start making art?
I have been drawing since I was a small child, but I got more serious about it when I was in High School.

Q2: What does inspire you?
Nature – Particularly animals. I also get inspired by anything fantasy related, especially high fantasy, sci-fi, and horror.

Q3: What are your techniques?
My main medium is digital painting, however I also work a lot with watercolor, pencil, inks, and tattoos.

Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?

Sometimes it is just to pass the time, but it is always a positive energy that drives me to draw/paint. Even if i like to draw Horror, and dark scenes, my creativity thrives on enthusiasm and good vibes – great music, friends, and experiences. Negative feelings such as anger and sadness do not help me make art.

Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I don’t think I have a main color, usually don’t plan what colors i will use. All those decisions happen while I am in the painting progress.

Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
I think there are many things for me to improve on, but for now i might focus first on practicing various kinds of background scenery.

Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I have a few ideas i would like to implement in the future, such as a short graphic novel or something.

Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of scarypet.
scarypet – loves to draw!!

Q9, Q10: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings. What did change from your first work till now?
The best example I can find is this HERE.
On the left is the first thing I tried to paint using a wacom tablet with a computer. I had an idea i wanted to make, but I was still unfamiliar with the new device. Though I could have done it well on paper, it turned out strange-looking. I also had not yet developed various kinds of styles yet.
The image on the right was done last year, in an attempt to remake the old drawing. Though more advanced in terms of technique, it is also more experimental. You may notice better control over color and more confident brushstrokes. The depth and details are a lot better realized.

Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I don’t think art is an escape from reality, on the contrary, art is how you bring fantasy into reality. Therefore, it might be better to describe of art as an essence of life. Personally, it is essential to my own life, as I cannot imagine what It would be like if I cannot create art!
