Q1: When did you start making art?
I’ve been drawing since before I can remember! My whole life, basically.

Q2: What does inspire you?
Mainly art nouveau, Disney, french comic styles and manga.

Q3: What are your techniques?
I use photoshop and a digital drawing tablet (a cintiq). I try to emulate the liik of traditional painting styles with my digital work.

Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I like creating visually appealing images that have a surreal touch and are soft and feminine. I usually don’t aim for any kind of deeper meaning and prefer to focus on creating something aesthetically pleasing.

Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I usually start with a dark brown base color, so that is probably the most commonly occuring color in my art. I like starting with brown because it gives the image a nice earthy tone and richness.

Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
I would like to be better at drawing settings and perspective. I’d love to be able to draw a detailed cityscape well.

Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I still have a personal animation project, Trichrome, in the works. It just keeps getting postponed due to a busy schedule!

Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of loish.
The essence of my art: colorful, feminine, flowing.
The essence of me as a person: Computer-addicted, hardworking, house-dweller.

Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
My very first work was probably done when I was very young. Like I said, I’ve been drawing my whole life. I also have no idea what my first digital piece was – I’ve been drawing digitally since 2000. This is the oldest image I could find online was this one HERE. I was really struggling to learn how to use the tablet at the time and my only goal was to create a drawing that wasn’t a complete mess!

Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
I definitely developed my digital painting techniques a lot further. My work is more detailed and I’ve developed a more unique style.

Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
For me, it’s hard work. It’s my source of income and something that I’m always trying to improve at. It is my reality, although I do see it as an escape from a more “normal life” (office job, etc).
