Q1: When did you start making art?
I guess like most of the artists I started drawing when I was a child. But my first digital attempt was when I was 13. And the following years I was really into drawing manga/anime on my PC. When I was 14 I got my first tablet. I did stop drawing drawing for a couple of years in highschool, because I was uninspired, and bored of my style. And it took some time to figure what I like again.

Q2: What does inspire you?
Every year my inspiration sources changes. Now I really like looking at other people work on deviantart, to name a few : hoooook, wlop, pascalcampion.
As well pre-raphaelite paintings.

Q3: What are your techniques?
I usually start by drawing a sketch on a paper, with just a pencil. But sometimes I just start doodling straight on the canvas in a program – Paint Tool Sai. Then I do most of my painting there and edit/add colors, effects in Photoshop. Usually I try to make everything really simple, before I used to make different layers for different items, but now up to 3 Max it makes my process much more faster, as well if I make mistakes it makes me remake everything around it which is a nice practice and in the end everything looks even better.

Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I want to make the surroundings look mysterious by manipulating colors and adding some hint here and there. Aswell I tend to make the character look straight at the person that is looking at the artwork, it makes the character come alive I think and a bit scary.

Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I guess it varies, but my favorite color would be green since most of my art portrait nature and somehow it is my favorite color.

Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
I do think I have a lot of things to improve. From anatomy to background painting. I want my art to be more expressive and not overdone.

Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Yes definitely! Right now I am doing a set of illustrations for a short story for my university, it is lots of fun, and they give us a lot of freedom. I feel very excited about it. Unlike many other artist, I have never spent a lot of time on drawing I just make them occasional without much sketching or thinking. But now I am really considering my future as an illustrator, so I am more committed to it now. And I could say that only now I have started to learn the things that I could of before. So I guess you could expect a lot of different stuff soon.

Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of skymint.
Mysterious. Fairy tail. Static.

Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
Really? I do not have my very first, but I do have my second HERE! I did it when I was 13, like 8 years ago already! And I actually posted it on deviantart. I did it entirely in Photoshop using my mouse, and using a lot of dodge and blur tool. In reality I feel like this artwork is more relevant to my art now than to my art that I did in between.

Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
I am constantly changing since I am trying to find my own style. I used to do a lot of black and white art when I was drawing in manga style and then it became very colorful, I would use linearts and lots of layers. Now I seek more realistic drawing, but not too realistic of course, since I do not want it to look like photography but more like unique illustrations.

Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
It used to be definitely and escape before, right now art is the only thing that makes me feel alive and living. Otherwise when I stop doing it, I start being depressed and uninspired, so I have to always keep it up and progress.

  Love this art!
