(I refuse to tell my real name, sorry)
year of birth: 1988
Q1: When did you start making art?
I’m drawing since I can even remember. But if you mean about more considered artwork I guess it was like 10 years ago, when I was in high school.
Q2: What does inspire you?
Most influence in my art has music, emotions, human mind, nightmares, dreams and other artists artworks. I was highly inspired by magical realism and surrealism (Beksiński, Salvador Dali, Luis Royo etc. ). Marilyn Manson’s lyrics are very inspiring for me.
Q3: What are your techniques?
I do mostly digital art. But sometimes I use also watercolors or ink.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I put there a lot of personal symbolism. I try to make people think about my works, instead of just looking at it and saying it’s “pretty”. I’m trying to show emotional and spiritual side of human being. My artworks also tells some stories behind them. For example, one of my art series called “Sins in my head” shows story of an affection. Those artworks are very personal to me.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I’m trying to put many colors schemes in my art now, but I guess my favorite is Payne’s Grey. It’s hard to tell why – I just like it’s low saturation and darkness.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
That’s a hard one. I would like to improve technical skills and I’d like to draw more “crazy” stuff there. It’s hard to do it since you’re working whole time – I’m working as graphic designer and illustrator and I don’t really have much time to draw for myself.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I’d like to finish my “Moths” series. For the nearest one I guess it would be another look for an Angel? Not pretty and frail as you were taught to depict it.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Raptorzysko.
It’s hard to describe myself. I can tell only what people tell about me: Loyal, intelligent, stubborn.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
It would be pretty hard to get oldest work of mine. Like I said I’m drawing and painting since I was a child. But I guess it would be a shame to show.
This one HERE is the oldest one you can find in my gallery. I was in junior high when I was drawing it. Not much to say about it – highly inspired by Satoshi Urushihara. Crayons + digital.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Everything I guess.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
Both. It’s also the way to show myself in a different way. Like taking off the mask I wear on an everyday basis.
