year of birth: 1990
Q1: When did you start making art?
I started drawing for fun when I was a really young kid, but i took it completely seriously after I got into college for animation.
Q2: What does inspire you?
Anything, from seeing art online to buying lots of art books, to drawing out stuff I drew about, etc.
Q3: What are your techniques?
I find applying traditional oil painting technique to my art when I paint in Painttool SAI is extremely useful and produces really great results.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I like to have a bit of realism in my paintings in the hopes that the audience can be drawn in to believing it more. I also like to play with different styles sometimes though
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I find that my art tend to lean towards blue and red, and probably because I’m most used to those two colours. I’m trying to practice with more realistic colours at the moment though :).
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Oh man, probably everything, from perspective, to backgrounds, to more dynamic poses, to drawing more animals, just because I really want to be good at all these stuff one day.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Not at the moment.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Qinni.
Ahh, i really don’t know…. realistic, colourful, and pretty, to describe my art, maybe? 😀
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
Umm, very first? hahaha, alright, HERE‘s my very first.
I drew this when I was around 15 years old though, so I didn’t really have any technique, and the feeling…well, I was just trying to draw a hot guy, hahaha.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
I think everything, really. My personality and understanding of art matured along with my technique and style.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
To me art is really everything, just like music. I love carrying a sketchbook with me at all times so I can sit down anywhere and just start drawing. Art is just as real and just as fantastical at the same time for me, and since I use it as means to a living, I guess I can say that it’s the essence of life
