year of birth: 1984
country: I’m a half German, half American artist with Italian ancestors.
Q1: When did you start making art?
A long time ago, but I only started painting digitally in 2007 after I had bought an old, used graphics tablet on ebay.
Q2: What inspires you?
Lots of things. Movies, music and other pictures. I keep a list of things I’d like to paint on my desktop.
Q3: What are your techniques?
I paint digitally using Photoshop Elements 7 and a tablet.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I like pictures that tell a story and convey certain emotions through their color schemes.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I don’t think I have a main color, though I do like green and orange. I also like strong contrasts, so I tend to use more black than I probably should.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Sometimes I wish I was capable of creating more realistic looking pictures, and I’d like to be better at painting characters.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of jerry8448.
whimsical, dark, scenic
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
My first digital image was a picture of an anime-like girl standing next to a fence. It was a very random motive, simply something to test my (tiny 6 inch) new tablet: HERE. I’m not usually into manga/anime.
Q10: What has changed from your first work till now?
I’ve gotten a larger tablet and I actually know how to use it now. I also use more textures and various brushes.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I paint in my free time to relax and unwind. I guess that’s a way of escaping from reality
