year of birth: 1989
Q1: When did you start making art?
I started to work with photomanipulations when I found the Worth1000 contests site, about 4 years ago.
Q2: What does inspire you?
I think the life is the bigger inspiration for my artworks. In addition of this, I always get inspired by music as the whole thing (melody and letters).
Q3: What are your techniques?
I work with photomanipulations and very basic techniques of digital painting and sketching. It’s basically blend pictures of different sources in one image, adding some lighting and shadowing details.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
Emotional feelings. All of my artworks (with rare exceptions) have a great meaning, maybe showing bad things in abstract way or using facial expressions of models. I always make a strong relationship of art and his title.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
Well, that is a complicated thing to talk about. I like dark artworks, frosty tones. But i do like too using hot colours, it depends what weather I want to give to the artwork.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
I’d like to use my own stock pictures. Cause I can explore more perspectives and best positions for my ideas. Sometimes I give up to do some artwork because I can’t find the right source.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I am starting my business with visual design of eletronic sports teams, so I’m working hard to reach out of my country with this work. But talking artistically, I want to do some jobs to heavy metal bands, this is a personal desire.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Iskander1989.
Introspective, emotive, dreamer.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
This HERE is a very meaningless and simple artowrk, cause I was practicing this technique called Break apart, using basic tools of Photoshop CS5 like a pen tool, masks, spot healing brush and content aware fill. The artwork shows a man in some desertic place, he is lost of himself and dying in the sands, that could be understood as a bad situation of his life, when no one is near to help.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Ideas. In those times I was very limited to try to learn everything and be the best on the photoshop. Today I can be inspired by simple situations of life and day by day, the charge of emotions in my artworks is very much stronger.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I think both of them. We need to escape from reality to find the essence of life.
