year of birth: 1994
country: Saskatchewan, Canada
Q1: When did you start making art?
My Mother always used drawing as a way to keep my siblings and me quiet,
so as far back as I can remember I was drawing. However the first time people took notice of me
having ability was when I was five.
I started to persue it full time when I dropped out of highschool at sixteen.
I knew I messed up my future pretty bad so I’d practice drawing/painting all day every day because it was all that I had going for me haha.
Q2: What does inspire you?
Not to sound cheesy but my folks.
Nothing makes me try harder on a piece like knowing my parents are going to look at it.
Seeing their faces light up at the sight of my work is the best feeling in the world and
it always pushed me to try harder every time.
Q3: What are your techniques?
I haven’t stuck to one technique, it’s always changing.
What works for one painting might not work for tomorrows painting. I try to be as versitile as possible.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I rarely stick to the same subject matter so I’m really not sure.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
Although it’s not a /real/ colour, I use black the most. Just because most of my
work is black and white.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Learning how to do skin tone most definitely. Even when I start off on a strong note, by
the end of it the person looks like they have a bad case of Argyria or something.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Not that I can think of off the top of my head, I don’t actually plan very far ahead.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of gimmegammi.
Disorginized, worried and somehow happy I suppose, heh.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.

It was really on a whim. I was never given a lesson in how to paint, I just picked
up a brush and went for it. I used a terrible broken plastic paint brush that comes
in those childrens art kits – but hey it worked (sorta).
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Well I use real paint brushes now for one haha. Other than developing more skill
wise I haven’t really changed all that much. I still paint the stuff I used to,
I’ve just gotten better at it.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
An escape I suppose. Like I said when I left school all I really had was art.
