George Griefy & Alexander Varelidis
names: George Griefy, Alexander Varelidis
year of birth: 13/05/1993, 10/06/1993
Q1:When did you start making art?
We started taking photos two years ago. However, we have experimented with other mediums such as drawing or handmade jewelry in the past.
Q2: what does inspire you?
Our inspiration comes from our feelings and inner thoughts. Photography is a way for us to express those feelings and discover ourselves. Great sources of inspiration have also been Baroque and Renaissance Art, where fine nude art came to the forefront representing a timeless ideal of humanity.
Q3: what are your techniques?
We shoot emotive portraits and then we use Photoshop to change the colours or shades.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
We’re trying to demonstrate an emotional side of humanity that lives between fantasy and reality.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
We always use dark colours or monochrome on our photos. We would say that themes and colours have shaped our identities as artists.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Having a better photography equipment and working with professional models could improve our work.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
We’re waiting for autumn to inspire us. No projects yet, but definitely more photographic work is up to come!

These are two of our first works. We used to create monochrome photos and edit them less than we currently do. We have made improvements to the posing of the model and we experiment with facial expressions all the time. We would say that the feeling is still the same.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
We have become more familiar with model posing and photomanipulating.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
Art is a way to express your feelings and discover yourself. It helps you escape from reality and create your own world.
Love this art!
