Q1: When did you start making art?
Definitely, and I think it is common to all who are dedicated to a creative work, I’d say start with this since we were children. I do not have a particular time, but since I can remember I have been drawing better or worse or doing things related to art.

Q2: What does inspire you?
Inspire me in my work a lot of things I would say that somehow inspires everything around me. I am inspired by great classical artists and great actual concept artist. I inspire my fellow collective Hysterical Minds and inspire me, of course, movies, comics and novels. Nature too. I’m not really aware of what is important in this regard, but it’s good to be open to external stimuli to grown as illustrator.

Q3: What are your techniques?
Currently I work most of my artwork digitally. It’s fast, fun and clean. Although it is always advisable to have a weekly dose of traditional drawing, and of course, to get here, have drawn hundreds of traditional pages all my life ;)

Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I think my paintings behind nothing too pompous transcendent sense. I try to paint what I like and I always like to give it a touch ironic or contradictory. Also a dark and dingy air. Create contrasts is fun!

Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
Currently not think my art has a certain color, try to give my rich palette that will grow my artwork. While it is true that perhaps the dark tones predominate, both literally and on the topics that I draw. Then everyone would say that in my life the main color of my art has been the black.

Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
I will improve everything about my job as an artist! I am painfully know of my limitations, which are many. Every day I see amazing people and I try to focus on improving and simply enjoy digital painting. There are dozens of areas where improvement: anatomy, perspective, use of color … everything!

Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Today I combine my work as an art director in a design, marketing and multimedia creation with my work as a freelance illustrator and designer. This does not leave me much TIME for major projects, although I have a few things in mind. It would be great they could be starting this 2014. Say the i am a video game amateur fan and I have some ideas. But it’s something that I still see far and very laborious. Also continue my Hysterical Minds Collective, a group of amazing people and with some interesting projects we have developed.

Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Dumaker.
Cats. Beer. Rock.

Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
I have much previous work, but this HERE is the first I uploaded to my DeviantArt page. Is 10 years. It is made with pencil, which I like (I should use it more dangerous today). I like to spend time designing strange creatures. He worked patiently while today I have everything finished soon. I do not have that patience for years.

Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
10 years ago was not really aware of that could one day make a living somehow with my paintings. That made me spend much time on other things: fun. I have no regrets because everything that has shaped my personality, but now made me more focused missing in my future role as illustrator. I would have worked harder and spent more time (which I had plenty in that year) to improve my technique.

Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I think it has a bit of both. It is an outlet for me, but it’s also the trunk of my existence and life itself is art. Without getting so momentous, art is fun, and fun should be the goal of all of us in some way.

  Love this art!
