year of birth: 1988
Q1: When did you start making art?
I started drawing when I was a kid, just for fun as every child does. Then, I drew some caricatures at school, also, for fun at the lessons. Later, I think it was 2011 I was curious to discover photoshop, and I began designing logos and other art for my friends playing for bands. But I always wanted to do more than I could. And I got back for drawing quite soon.
Q2: What does inspire you?
I think everything does, from personal thoughts and feelings to messages I got from books and music. To draw something, I just need a thought, and feel it, as soon as it catches my mind the composition appear itself.
Q3: What are your techniques?
I cionsider what I draw graphic, as it has ink the most, and colors the least. I adore clear line work and stippling, details. I used to draw sketches on paper and then re-work them using photoshop. Nowadays I rarely do that, and draw everything digitally.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
I always try to create an iconic imagination about human nature, or one of it’s feature, how mad and chaotic it is. Having mind people don’t use it, they are able to create but they tend to destroy. I use loads of skulls to convey these messages, to show how ugly mankind is inside and how chaotic the our world is. But I love when people find something personal in any art.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
I like faded, pale tints. I think they work better for graphic. And I hope they get some moods for my drawings.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
As I’m self taught I think I should improve everything. I don’t think I’m good enough, and never will. But first of all, I want to develop my engraving skill as the technique, to learn more about anatomy and perspective, make the compositions better. And make all the works diverse.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Yeah! loads of them! I’m currently working on 5 personal projects between the custom work. Also, working on about 17 sketches for the future illustration, all I need is time. And more artworks have been planned.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of DeadInsideGraphics.
Ironic, thinking, outspoken.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
This art HERE I drew late 2012, and this was the first serious project to me, as I said before, first I just designed stuff discovering photoshop by myself, then I discovering it with graphic tablet, again drawing art for friends. Those artwork were rather tests than art.
So, concerning this work, the composition was interested, a lot of details, female anatomy which I’m still learning. Another task was small objects, like rats, leaves and that flower in the hair. So they took about half time of the whole process. The artwork is 18×24 inches, and it is 3 colours on black. I had a lot of fun drawing it, it took me about 8 days to complete, and it was the custom work. And I don’t think I should have color it. I think it would look better just on white or grey.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Mostly is was the skills, as I mentioned I’ve never been professional, I never studied at art school, but practice improves skills. The more you draw the better you do it. And one needs tasks, I have been ever trying to make every my artwork various and better than previous one.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
For me it is the way to express myself, to say something, so I would say it’s the essence.
