year of birth: 1991
Q1: When did you start making art?
I have started making art since my childhood. At first it was my hobby. But since 2009 I seriously got into it. I used to draw in the sort of horror. I liked to draw at the school lessons and teachers usually asked me if I dreamt about nightmares. In that way, I tried to depict my impressions on the paper on the comics I’ve read and the films I’ve seen.
Q2. What does inspire you?
I can say that everything can inspire me from the smallest details till huge scenery. But also I can base my work on different computer games, movies, cartoons and anime. The works of other artists should not be excluded either. Most of all I am inspired by different nasty things. I personally like Dark Art type of art very much and I have been working in this type of art since my childhood. I often watched horror films and truly believed in different monsters, tried to depict them. I imagined the other world where heroes defend us from evil spirits.
At present I prefer drawing some fanarts of different works of fiction than Dark Art.
Q3. What are your techniques?
The technique is really simple. I just start with a sketch and then step by step I add new details. It is not really good because during the work I am full of many brilliant ideas and they are all mixed in my head, so I can’t concentrate on the main one. But this year I try to sketch and then I analyze the image of the character and its history (it is important not to miss the details). I do my best to imagine the whole piece of work that will be in the end.
Q4. What is the main idea or feeling behind your work?
I like symbolism most of all, I suppose that some thoughts and signs should be represented in the picture.
Q5. What is your main colour of your art and why?
Well, I like the combination of cold and warm tints, also gloomy cold colours, combination of grey, greenand dark-blue and many others. I think that the colour is very important in the picture because it passes the mood of the image.
Q6. What would you improve about your work and why?
I do not have much knowledge in an anatomy, also I have some problems in the transmission of the treatment of light and shade and volume. It would be desirable to learn to draw with realistic exactness
Q7. Do you have any project for the future?
I want to draw a well-known “Death” in a hood with a scythe. Also I am planning to draw a monster Granfalloon?. This monster attracts all people and alive slowly sucks out all juices from them. I used to depict him but I didn’t have much experience. I suppose that is the time I can do it. Also I want to draw the pair of landscape on the subjects of the dirty world.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of DanteCyberMan.
My nickname I borrowed from the character Devil My Cry. I like this computer game very much and this character and personage on the whole, and the nickname sounds very cool.
The nickname Cyberman I like because I like the style of cybernetics, different wires throughout the body. Oh, It reminds me when I was a little boy I used to draw cybernetic characters. I was inspired by such American movies as Cyborg, the Terminator, ROBOCOP and others.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
My first work executed in computer graphics is cybernetic bear (or Cyber Bear) HERE. The idea came to my mind when I played with teddy bears in my childhood. I remember that I tore off to one of bear’s head, I remember this teddy bear was torn in scraps. And I thought if it had been alive it would have revenge on me for this. So that is why I drew my Cyber Bear plush and nice outside and ferrous killer inside.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
I think, my technique becomes better. Also my style’s changed with my age. Actually, I draw this Bear every year and I constantly transform his image. I even think that my Cyber Bear was much better than two or even four years ago. The mood of work was better probably.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I can say with a confidence my art is my ideas aloud. The real life us is boring and uninteresting, but the art helps me to show my inner world to other people. Sometimes I imagine the world without music and paintings and I understand that the world would be very boring. The art helps us to broaden the boundaries of our mind, opens the doors to boundless spaces of fantasies. By the way, the art is a good pastime.
