Ghost: Women #3
by BenjeBurdine

Q1: When did you start making art?
I’ve made things since I was little. A wax ghost I made in preschool was the first thing I could remember I was proud of. I don’t really believe I make “art” – so never.

Q2: What does inspire you?
Anything. I’ve gotten ideas from Disney movies, grocery shopping, brushing my teeth and changing a light bulb. Everything is a potential idea waiting to be warped and mended.

Q3: What are your techniques?
Destruction. Also, between the first and last shot or making of anything, it becomes ritualistic and needs not to be interrupted.

Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
Something in-between the first and fifth stages of grief.

Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
Faded black. Black itself, sometimes feels too “alive”.

Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
A move to full-blown analog. Digital picture taking and editing isn’t visceral enough for me.

Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
Always. However, if I say, it may not be released before others. Some need to “decay” before they are shown.

Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of BenjeBurdine.
Dying – Death – Decay

Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
Most, if not all, of my early work I have reduced to ash. I never took digital records.

Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Showing it to the world. The internet makes them forever online, making it impossible for me to make them disappear and be forgotten.

Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
It is the essence of life in the most literal sense. A distant look into your inevitable future.

  Love this art!
