year of birth: 1987
Q1: When did you start making art?
I started to draw at an early age, everyone said that I’m pretty well in this, and so I went to school in a class of fine art. Later it so happened that I decided to get an education in graphic design (and didn’t finish my education), cause there is not specialized courses or specialties in Art in our city. Very soon I realized that it was not my way, and late in 2008 I saw lessons from the Gnomon and I was so much inspired by the idea to learn CG. I bought a bamboo tablet and about 2-3 months my first Digital work was ready.
Q2: What does inspire you?
Oh, I get inspired from different sources – books , movies, music also sets up a certain mood. But the most important inspiration – it is ENVY, when I look at mega-cool art in galleries I just don’t find the place for myself, I want to draw like them and do it better then them. Prove to myself and everyone that I can.
Q3: What are your techniques?
Basically I work in Photoshop, I don’t master pencil and line drawing at the proper level, so that’s why I always loved to draw from the blot. I find lots of pictures, textures, old works and scetches – stirred it all and in the resulting chaos I’m looking for a story for an image. Well, after that it is a long and not always pleasurable detailing of my found composition
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works?
It all depends on what I’m inspired and what goal I put in front of me, the work may born simply because I found some interesting texture or a bright spot, heard the song, saw the scene in the imagination. But in most of my works, as you can see, I use images of girls (what could be better to show the beauty) and the oppressive dark fantasy scene – just because I love it.
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
Oh, well, here I love to experiment, it is sometimes a very strange combination, but perhaps the most favorite – is red. It is the color of blood, fire and redhead girls (I love them so much ^_^).
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Perhaps I need to work more on the dynamics. A lot of my works are static and it upsets me. A lack of education makes the anatomy of my characters looks bad but I’m working on it.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I always wanted to make a game built entirely on the art with a deep storyline, I think it’s called interactive novel or quest (or something like that) as “Syberia” with its stunning immersion into the world or “To the Moon” at least with a great storyline. Also I had the idea to draw an animated comics, but alas – Time, ferris time, I hate you.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Allnamesinuse.
Lazy, self-hating, perfectionist.
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
That’s probably my second or third job (the rest were sunk into oblivion) HERE.
I painted it after I found painting lesson in the Internet and just tried to copy that technique. It is not super quality, but I love it very much, because there is a mood and story. He is mortician
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
I began to work on the quality and the overall perception of the work as a whole. And of course now I can draw more complex compositions and stories. But though there is a downside. Spent many years in the industry and having worked under its laws, I probably lost the freedom of imagination, crazy stories and perspectives with the composition becomes harder to draw, but I want to go back to it and will do my best!
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
You know, this is first one and second one. When I paint for myself, I am escaping into the magical worlds that are created by myself and live by my own laws, and it’s awesome. When I work it becomes the essence of life that I exist at the expense of – this is what I am and what I do, and I don’t want anything else.
