year of birth: 1997
Q1: When did you start making art?
I started drawing and painting when I was three. When I was four I became fascinated with mythical creatures, and drew them continuously. At the age of nine, I switched over to digital art. Later on when I was thirteen years old I was accepted into an art gallery and sold some of my first works. From that day on I have been going to many events around Colorado.
Q2: What does inspire you?
What inspires me the most are mythical stories, nature, music, dreams, and art in general.
Q3: What are your techniques?
Although I work digitally, the technique that I use on a painting depends what I’m trying to accomplish. Sometimes I start to work from a photograph and other times I start directly with a sketch.
Q4: What is the main idea or feeling behind your works
I want my work to have some kind of mystery to it. Most of the times I have a hidden story, or symbolism that can be unsolved within each of my paintings. Although you can sometimes find a short description about the meaning of the paintings on my webpage www.AldanaDigitalArts.com
Q5: What is the main color of your art and why?
The colors that I use in my art have a wide range. I don’t really have a main color that is always present in my work. Other times I don’t use color at all.
Q6: What would you improve about your work and why?
Every time that I finish an artwork, I learn something new from it. But I’m always looking for new techniques to improve my work.
Q7: Do you have any project for the future?
I have many ideas on future projects, mostly surreal artworks that I want to finish.
Q8: Describe yourself with 3 words capturing the essence of Aldana-Digital-Arts.
Mysterious, mythical, surreal
Q9: Show us (link) your very first work. Describe it from techniques till feelings.
Although I don’t really have a link to my fist work, I do have a link to one of the first digital paintings that I did around the age of ten HERE.
I don’t really remember the technique that I used in detail, but I did start out with a sketch and painted the unicorn. The background is made with photographs.
Q10: What did change from your first work till now?
Mostly everything changed other than the fantasy themed subject. Currently I use a different technique, and the way of started a painting is different.
Q11: What is art for you? Escaping from reality or the essence of life?
I don’t think I can stop painting, but also to me art is like escaping into my imagination. So I would say both.
